Helping to advance the cause of humanity is, quite possibly, the highest purpose of human life. As Booker T Washington, the famous African-American educator, author and political advisor once said, “If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else.” That said, giving is not just about acts of charity. As Oprah Winfrey puts it, “Giving is an on-going process. And it’s not just about being able to write a cheque. It’s being able to touch somebody’s life.”
