A Woman of Substance
Shabana Azmi who was in Singapore recently to star in a play and participate in the 13th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) spoke to India Se’s cub reporter on social issues and the youth of India.

Clad in a smart block printed kurta and cream slacks, looking years younger than 61, and completely devoid of prima donna airs, Shabana Azmi flashes a reassuring smile with a warm “hello, come in” that dispels my nervousness and even invites my editor-in-chief and photographer to share a heaped plateful of kebabs that has just been served to her. Her interest piqued by our all-women team, she asks my editor which part of India she hails from and expresses keen interest in the magazine.
