She was a commoner, he was the ruler of Gwalior. Her parents named her Nanhi (which means small in Hindi), he was Raja Man Singh Tomar. The incident happened near Raigaon, about 18 km from Gwalior. On one of his hunting trips, as Man Singh left Raigaon, two wild buffaloes fighting ferociously blocked the road. Unable to cross, the Raja waited for the black beauties to move. Oblivious to the human presence, they continued to lock horns and didn’t budge.
